Mike figured Mark Twain had a pretty good idea, so he untied the urban bowline and now encourages others to explore, dream and discover the thrilling art of lure fishing.  Mike (or "McTrout" as he is better known up the coast) is known for his articles which have both inspired and helped educate lure fishermen to gain fuller enjoyment from the sport. Mike worked closely with Everett & Pam Johnson of GCC as Associate Editor, was the Upper Coast Editor of the Salty Angler, and is also a regular contributor to TIDE Magazine. 

Besides wielding a pen, Mike's creativity with a rod has shown up in a few tournaments. Some of the most notable wins include a Rockport Amateur Troutmasters, Galveston Pro Troutmasters, and back to back Galveston's Best of the Best Plugger with Mark Holt. 

Mike now shares his passion as a full time licensed guide in Port Mansfield, TX.  A trip with 'McTrout' promises to be an adventure to remember.
